Spring Cleaning: Closets and Websites
Spring Cleaning: Closets and Websites - Nope It’s Not Just Home Cleaning Anymore
So now that the snow has melted and April showers are drenching the ground in preparation for May flowers, you are probably tackling the perennial task of spring-cleaning. As you put away your winter clothes, clean out your closets, and tend to areas of your home that may have been neglected for some time, you would be wise to consider applying the same habitual diligence to your company’s website.
So, what better time then now to do some website spring cleaning?
Getting in the habit of cleaning your website, helps increase the marketability of your business. The first step is getting your website up-to-date. You can begin by answering the following:
The second step is to look at how your website is optimized for search engines. This is a fundamental part of your marketing strategy because it affects the level of traffic your website receives. If you want to increase your rankings in popular search engines - such as Google, Yahoo, and MSN - it is crucial that you look at the role that keywords play in the following two areas:
Keywords written inside your title tag are read as your title page by search engines and then listed as search results. In order to take advantage of this function, you may consider limiting your title tag to six words while keeping the word ‘the’ at the beginning of the title.
Additionally, keywords in URLs are very important. For instance, take http://www.importantkeywords.com/ccc-is-your-solution.html, where “CCC is your solution†is the keyword phrase you are interested in marketing on the web. In order for that keyword phrase to be effective, it should also be written in other sections of the document.
While these are just a couple of steps to spring-cleaning your website, the keyword phrase is to “optimize your website”. Spring is the perfect time to take on this task, and we at Crystal Coding Concepts are more than happy to assume this endeavor.
